Resident Manager/Handy Person -----Duties to Include:

- Repairs:  The Resident Manager will perform Plumbing, carpentry and electrical repairs, as well as unit improvements during turnovers. The front of the building needs to be periodically watered and weeds need to be pulled.

- Janitorial/Minor Maintenance: The hallways and Laundry room need to be kept clear of trash and should be cleaned at least once a week.  In addition, the front of the building should be swept periodically. Light bulbs, smoke detector batteries need to be changed, etc.

 

- Trash and Recycling:  Trash area cleaned. Recycling containters brought to the street and back to the building when emptied. Old News papers picked up daily as well as other trash.

 

- Leasing: The property management company is responsible for renting the apartments.  However, the Resident Manager needs to be available for open houses, usually no more then twice a week during vacancies. 

 - Handle After Hours Emergencies: In the event of an emergency, the Resident Manager will contact the appropriate vendor and be available to let the person in the affected unit(s).  Let Locked Out Tenants Into Their Units: The Resident Manager will have access to the keys to let a tenant in. Meet with Utilities for Installs:  Facilitate access for PGE, Cable, etc as needed.  - Deliver Notices: Occasional 24 hour notices posted on doors.

 

 -  Tenant Relations: The resident manager will be responsible for helping deal with resident disputes and complaints, noise issues and be the first line of defense for negotiating and resolutions.

 

Applicants should have the following skills/traits:

  • Minimum 2 years experience in plumbing, electrical and carpentry.
  • Ability to perform the above mentioned duties.
  • Is generally at home or in the area during the evenings and weekends. 
  • Likes to interact with their community.

Compensation: 

The position requires a minimum of 10 Hours Per Week to be available. The Manager can also be compensated for additional repairs that extend beyond the base work.
